Vietnam, Milford

We have parked in the area identified below without consequence. However, it may be illegal to park in this lot. There are likely other access options for the bouldering. We have noticed mountain bikers parking just off of Route 85 (near the arrow for College Rock on the map below), one could bike in from there.

The map below depicts the best and most accessible areas that we have identified so far. There are many other areas and boulders.

Lee Soares Full Metal Jacket, V7, (pictured on the previous page) ascends the obvious arete on the Little Cottonwood boulder. The V0+ crack is a classic, somewhat highball problem. The walls to the right and left of this crack will likely produce some nice highballs/toprope problems. The Machine Gun wall is a quarry remnant. Facing the wall (which faces the quarry pond), the left problem, a V2, involves a dyno off of a sinker mono, the middle problem, a V1, involves pinching half a drill hole, while the right problem, a V1, uses several monos to get to the top. A hard traverse on monos awaits a first ascent. The Roofs boulder has a steep (about 45 degree) side away from the Quarry pond. This boulder lies on the edge of an area which recently experienced a forest fire. Facing the steep side, several V0- problems have been done around the left side, a V3 sit start and a V1 traverse (follow the obvious crack left to right) have been done around on the right side, and several harder lines have been done on the steep side. This boulder has potential for several harder lines.
